A TRADITIONAL BUILDING, WITH THE MOST UP TO DATE ECO-FRIENDLY FEATURES

Along with carrying out the surveys and drawing the architectural plans, Carter Hughes Davies handled the project management for the construction of this luxury home in the Lansdown area of Bath. Now running as a B&B, Beckford's View was built on the same piece of land as two of our other projects - Ensleigh Croft and Stoneleigh Lodge - and is the third structure seen in the video above.

Green credentials
It's a house that ticks all the boxes in eco home design. Air source heat pumps run with the solar panels, and it has low temperature underfloor heating. Heat loss is kept to an absolute minimum thanks to ample insulation, and high grade thermal and acoustic double glazing. The kitchen and bathroom ventilation systems have heat recovery systems built in, reducing the running costs even further. With grey water tanks, the house recycles some of the water it uses as well.

Luxury finish
Beckford's view is an ample home with large rooms and a luxurious finish. The kitchen is handmade, and it features stone tiled floors as do the bathrooms. The rest of the house has solid oak flooring resulting in a very nice atmosphere inside. No carpets means there's less dust and cleaner, clearer air. The architectural design takes into account the fantastic views to the rear of the property, with huge sliding folding doors on the ground floor and panoramic windows on the first floor. The doors open completely meaning that the living area inside and the patio can become one in the warmer months.
